EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. EFT, or tapping, allows a person to tap on pressure points along the face and upper body to relieve stress. Anxiety and other emotions can cause the brain to go into fight or flight mode. The brain, sensing danger, sends out the hormone cortisol to prepare the body to fight or to run. We live in a stressful world and often find ourselves in that fight or flight state. Tapping along the pressure points actually lowers the cortisol levels in your body. You can tell your brain to relax, that you are not in real danger. You can feel your emotions but in a state of mind where you can be in control.
